That's most certainly true, on all accounts. You have a much more inefficient set of cans. I was thinking about getting the HD650s, but I think I'll wait to amazon is selling them for closer to 300, like they have in the past.

As for the E17, I thought it was great for what it did, which is as an on the go DAC. It's definitely worth the cost of entry, however I think that the E7 is overall a better value. If I could do it over, I might keep the E7 over my PA2v2, but I liked the custom built nature of the Electric Avenues product, and I felt that the DAC in my ICS device was just fine for 320 mp3s, which is what I primarily listen to.

Right. I don't feel bad about returning the products, and I'm happy for those who find enjoyment from them. Just wasn't for me :(

So at this point I think I'm going to get myself a V90 and then when the assembled ODAC is released by JDS I'll get one of those. I don't want to pay the extra money for Balanced inputs since I have no plans on purchasing a set of balanced cans.

Ahh well please post a review of the V90 , it looks really awesome.

I use my E7 for low impedance headphones with fantastic results but the E17 I've heard is really crisp DAC with better controls (treble , bass).

But yea I've listend to balanced cans with a balanced amp and honestly the difference is minor at least for me. Not something I would spend thousands on.

As for the HD650's , they are an incredible set of cans but they have a sound signature that doesn't work for everyone. I would seriously consider auditioning a pair before buying them off Amazon if at all possible.

Soon as I get the V90 I shall. I had to email Violectric because buying through them is significantly (over $100) cheaper than from the US distributor. When It comes in I'll post another, more thorough review, this time with pics!
