1. Will a 650w psu be enough for a couple hdd's, 1vid card (560 or 460gtx), and i am either going i5 2500k or i7 2600k depending on deals. Im in debate on whether or not to go for this deal on a 650w corsair or spend about 20-40 bucks more and go for a 750w.

Also i might overclock as well.

2. Should i go 1333 DDR3 memory or for 1600 DDR3 because i heard somewhere on the forums that 1600 was not able to oc very much on a SB build.

3. Also a memory question...should i go 2x2 8gb's or fill all slots 2x4 for 8 gbs or just go for 6gbs and fill 3 slots?

Thanks these questions will help me start buying. Build is listed below of the eventual plan

evga 560/460 or Msi 460/560
2 1tb HDDs
Corsair XMS 1333 or 1600 memory'
Corsair 650 or 750w psu
 
1) Yes
2) DDR3 1333 since you do not need to OC the RAM at all with a SB build.
3) There's no consumer grade 8GB RAM sticks now. So your main option should be 2x4GB

Are you set on Nvidia?
 
Sorry for the confusion I didn't mean one 8gb stick, I meant the 2 sticks of 4gb

And I got a good deal on DDR3 1600 2x4gb which i may buy one more and use 3x6gb total for my build in triple channel mode.

I am not set on nvidia entirely, and I know the 6950 is very nice oc. Im really having a hard time debating on what to do there. (If i go cheap Im just gonna grab a 460) If i decide to go $200-250 I'll probably snag a deal on a 6950.

Isn't XFX or EVGA oc friendly ? I forget.

Actually, the current Sandy Bridge CPUs do not support triple-channel mode. Their IMCs (Integrated Memory Controllers) are dual-channel only. Using three sticks of RAM on that platform would force the Flex memory controller in which part of your installed RAM will run in dual-channel mode and the rest in single-channel mode. So, if you installed 3 x 4GB modules on most motherboards, you'd end up with 8GB in dual-channel and 4GB in single-channel. Some motherboard BIOSes, however, do not support the Flex memory controller mode at all and thus would force all three sticks to run entirely in single-channel mode. In that latter case, since you'd now be cramming six ranks all on the same channel, the memory controller would also be forced to run at a fail-safe DDR3-800 speed, thus slowing down performance even more.
 
ok thanks a ton..these are the answers I needed.

I got a deal on 4gb of 1600. So i'll stick with 4gb for now and maybe upgrade later on since 4gb will be all i need atm.
