I'm having a hard time finding single threaded bench performance metrics, which is important in algorithmic trading / HFT. For example, 1 SB review had single threaded 1M hyper pi, while googling the same bench for an i3 did not yield results for identical software @ 1M setting. My CPU is an i3 530 @ 4.0 ghz stock voltage, and I would like to know the rough percent gains if switching over to a stock voltage overclocked SB. Maybe it's better to wait for the 22nm version to come out?

Your not going to find a whole lot of Core i3 benchmarking out there. At least not in comparison to Sandy Bridge. You are talking about low end vs. mid-range / mainstream hardware. The costs and target audience for those products are worlds apart.
