Sandy Bridge-E and MSI X79 preview

what do 980x at 4ghz pull in for ppd running bigadv? any chance a hex SBE at 5ghz will come close to 100k?

not a 980x, but as reference my 970 @ 4.15 gets 71.5K on the latest largest WUs (in a linuxVM)

I'm not so sure if 5GHz could get 100K in a VM but it will be very close. OTOH, native linux should beat 100K.

Win7 native would be significantly less, the same 970 gets just over 40,000 PPD

will 6903-4 ever come to windows ? if these overclock with blck as good as X58 the xeon 8 core chips could be monsters. soo long as they dont cost $2000

I hope we get some more definite voltage rules this time. It would be so sweet to be able to run 5ghz 24/7 with a nice cooler like a D14 and just get it replaced under the three year intel warranty if 1.45 volts did kill it after a few years but safe voltages are always nice.
