Microcenter 64GB Sandforce G2 1222 SSD keeps dropping and having to be hard rebooted

it is my boot drive, so the entire computer reboots and when it does it does not see the SSD, however if I turn off the power and then reboot the drive will work just fine

it reboots like this around 1 or 2 times each day, usually I notice it first thing in the morning when I try to wake up the computer

also I made the mistake of setting it up to run in IDE mode instead of AHCI or RAID

Sorry to say that you REALLY want to run it in AHCI mode.

Running it in IDE mode is just going to give you flakiness and lousy performance.

Many SSDs have problems with the sleep/hibernate functions and it's usually recommended to set the HDDs in the Advanced Power settings to Never Sleep.

Load/install/turn on the AHCI mode for the best performance.

yes I know, the board defaulted to IDE, I did not know it until long after I finished my install
