As title,
I want it now.
Is there some news on its release date?

The only thing I've seen so far has been "October." Subbing to see if anyone else has an answer.
Any info on pricing?
this is up for sale on pccasegear in Australia

http://www.excaliberpc.com/636626/samsung-950-pro-series-mz-v5p512bw.html November 5th? I was thinking October 12th.
BTW, if you're thinking about buying an 850 Pro, do it now because the moment the 950 is available to preorder the 850 discounts will disappear.
I don't think the 950 will impact the 850 in terms of pricing, sales, and discounts...2 different segments: 2.5" SATA III vs M.2 NVMe.
Two different prices
I was Micro Center today and the guy that handles their hard drives told me October 23rd. He didn't mention anything about pricing.
so their earlier October statement was a bald face lie like what clapper said to congress....jerks

"early Oct" might mean released to vendors on Oct 14th/15th. So the Oct 23rd sale date kinda makes sense
that is mid October not early....
True, but c'mon they always do that. First half of month is technically "early" for them.
Also, look at the availability of lower end desktop Skylake chips. "Launching end of Sept" and still not a sign of availability.
Is there going to be much of a noticeable difference between this and a SATA SSD if usage is just gaming and light desktop use?

I'm still very interested but I also just got my rig finally working 100% and I don't want to jump through 20 hoops to get one of these working as an OS drive. Hopefully these will be plug and play with Win8+ drivers.
should be plug and play with 7 and above
the other Samsung OEM m.2 drives certainly didn't seem like they were plug and play. But hoping these are.
Still using my 840 Evo from my old build. Wondering if it's worth the upgrade in the new rig in my sig if it doesn't really equate to gaming performance.
Do it if you want to, but with gaming, the cost would be better spent on a 1+ TB SATA III drive, imo.

Heard some new info today at my MC. Apparently the release date has been pushed back to Nov. 1 due to the shipping problems on the West coast. The salesman confirmed it through email and said even though they may get a few in before that time, they won't sell them until Nov. 1![]()
