The crew at PC Perspective have rounded up a handful of Samsung's 750 EVO SSDs in varying capacities and put them to the test. If you are shopping for a new SSD, you might want to give this review the once over.

After launching the 750 EVO in 120GB and 250GB capacities, it appears the demand for lower cost products persuaded Samsung to introduce a 500GB model. I'm happy they made this move, as 500GB is a capacity sweet spot that satisfies the boot drive needs of many PC users and gamers. It does have lower warranty and endurance ratings than the 850 EVO, but there is still plenty of rated flash life available for the average user of these products.

I tried to order some of these drives recently and was told they are now EOL by my supplier. I was shocked because I'm pretty sure Samsung released this lineup back in January of 2016. Does anyone know if this is true or was my supplier wrong?

Newegg still has 500GB ones for $135. I picked up one a couple weeks ago to replace a full 250GB EVO 850 and can't say I notice any speed difference. Seems to be a good SSD.

Bought a 500 GB version a couple months ago, pretty happy with it, no idea if they are EOL, would be strange for something so new.

Give me cheap SSDs with terrible write life and slow speeds in bulk. They'll still destroy HDDs. Why is this so hard to grasp manufacturers?

Crucial MX300 fits that to a T.

Not outstanding at doing just one thing (compared to the 750 EVO).

But make it do read and write simultaneously, and t keeps up with the 750 EVO

A little cheaper as well. I've enjoyed mine for the last 3 months, after Amazon had the 525GB on sale for $110. The regular MSRP is $119, but hey, the holidays.

I looked at these when I was doing a build a while back.

My take was that they weren't bad, but thatthey weren't cheap enough.

For very slightly more I could get the 850 Evo, making the 750 not quite worth it to me.
