Saints Row 4

I still have to get to level 50 at some point. I did beat the game, but I think I got to level 29 and that's it so far.
 
I beat the game over the weekend with about 21 hours total. Made level 50 well before the finale by doing all the subquests. Total completion sits at 94%. It was definitely a fun run but I doubt I'll try to get gold in all the challenges, especially the damned Rift ones.
 
I am making it a point to try and get gold's on all challenges before I start the "grand finale". I have collected all things though. I have like 180 free clusters that are unused. I wonder if they are going to release anything with the season pass?
I think I am showing roughly 18-20 hrs played.

If they have a season pass, they really should release new content.

My wife and I played it again last night. I only meant to play it for a half hour so I could get into Splinter Cell. We ended up playing it for two hours or so, just doing all the hacking and stuff. Man, every time we play, we notice something more we enjoy about Saint's Row 4, like the gold Command bot thing that zooms around, and if you kill it your wanted meter dissapears, and little things like that.
 
Sounds like a patch they just released may have messed up some of the weapons. Hopefully they fix it soon. I haven't played since they released it so I am not sure if it messed mine up.
Apparently the Season Pass was only for some things I am playing with now, like the recto-rocket melee weapon and such. They have two new DLC's out now that are not part of the Season Pass. I do not like how Volition is doing that but I still enjoy the game.
 
I like the game, but the save system really sucks. Not to mention when your doing a quest if you leave or the game crashes, you need to restart from the beginning which is bullshit.
 
Par for the course for any of the big/recent sandbox games. I haven't played GTA V yet but I'd be surprised if it was any better.
 
I will wait for the GOTY edition with all the content unless it gets uber cheap real quick.

+1 - after getting the whole package from a Humble Bundle package, I don't think I'll get it until another such deal occurs.
 
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just purchased SRIV from the deal through GF, and I must say, nice change of pace! What the *(*&)* is goin on!!!??

It's taking a bit to get used to, and I do not see any graphic improvements in this installment, but whatever, it's a nice change up. I don't really mind the super powers so much, but collecting the clusters is a pain in the arse.

And yeah, bout 5 hours in, and I don't use cars anymore. That sorta sux because I have no interest in pimpin the rides.

SR4 is still using SR3 engine/graphics so there are no improvements visually.

I agree you spend way too much time getting clusters but if you want those power abilities...

You can still play with the cars, hardly worth it though. Get all the speed runs at gold so you can run on water. So good!
 
This is the game that keeps on giving but I think I agree that you lose something and lose the point to a lot of things when you become a super powered god.
 
I'm still waiting on a full-package version of this for <$20 before buying in. I loved SR3, but not paying full game price for what really should have been an expansion pack.

I get where you're from there and it did seem a little shorter than SR3 but if it's an expansion then it's the biggest expansion I've ever played by quite a bit. Most of the dlc can be ignored unless you care about a few weapons and vehicles that are mostly reskins, the few that add gameplay can be bought cheaply when the season pass goes on sale but they didn't look good enough to even bother playing IMO.

It's well worth it man. There's enough here that this goes well past any "expansion pack."
 
I played a little bit of SR3 but it didn't really "click". Then I played 4 and loved it for some reason, which is odd because in terms of game mechanics they're almost identical. But after playing 4 I went back to 3 and this time it did click and I loved that one too, despite the lack of superpowers.

I got to 50 well before the finale in 4, although I never did in 3. That's just playing casually without going crazy to max out challenges (which are the least fun part of the game IMO). I would like to get the achievement in 4 that gives you the maxed-out gliding but I can't be bothered.

I think that while in terms of mechanics and technology/engine, 4 is basically a glorified expansion of 3, there's more than enough content to justify a full game. It's sort of like how Mass Effect 3 is very similar to 2 (ignoring the ending).
 
Free in Epic this Thursday 8th Re -Elected version I don't own any of these games.
Actually I own Saints Row the 3rd but never installed it for some reason.
