Safe x1900xtx OC Levels/Methods?

What's are the safe levels the x1900xtx can be pushed to using ATi Tool?

I'm running a NZXT case, air-cooled with 7 120mm fans (surprisingly quiet) 4 of which are on the side, and a Thermalright HR-03 heatsink on the GPU mounted with AS5.

I've never been into overclocking, and never really needed to because my system runs everything maxed pretty well (including F.E.A.R.), but I do get a slight bit of lag with certain things at times and I'd like to push a little more out of this card.

Should I even use ATi Tool? Or the OC settings in the CCC?

Under water I was able to push my X1900XT to 750mhz core clock with a vcore of 1.525V, and memory to 820 at 1.575V(I may be wrong on that one) I don't own the card anymore, but my delta T under water was like 12C, with a load of 43C
 
Although the card will run at 90c+ on stock clocks, I've found once you up the vCore and clockspeeds significantly, load temps have to be much lower to avoid artifacting and/or hard locks. I managed to hit 791/882 using ATiTool after a lot of tweaking, but that's with H20 and I would say practically impossible under plain air. I'd stick to 1.5 vCore (1.525 at a push) and see how far that gets you (725+ I'd say). A high VDDCI (I just went straight to the max) helps the mem overclock, and is fine as long as the vregs get good airflow. To reduce heat a bit you can lower the memory output voltage as far as you can whilst retaining stability. Upping the memory input voltage didn't help any, so may as well leave as is.
Oh, and I only use these clocks when I need to (benching, Oblivion - which I no longer play). I have an uber-slow profile (400/500) which I use for 2D, and a series of profiles which get used depending on the required performance. Running high voltages/clocks for long periods is bad, m'kay.
 
I run mine at 730/830 with the stock cooler. It will go higher, but there is no point
1.52 Volts to the Vgpu, all other voltages at stock setting...
I have the fan controls set manually to go to %90 at 60 degrees and %100 at a temp over 65....
The card never breaks 65C while gaming..

Oh, and I use ATI tool...

Where exactly do I check/change the voltage going to my GPU? I cannot find the setting in this bios (Intel's "Bad Axe").

I seem to be having two problems with ATi Tool though:
1) If I let ATi Tool test for itself, my system crashes once it reaches certain clocks speeds, and I get a pop-up upon reboot saying, "ATi Tool crashed unexpectedly. Too high clock?".

However, I can run higher clocks manually w/o it crashing. Makes no sense, unless...

2) I'm not noticing a difference with OCing my card with ATi Tool. Does is not work with everyone?

Odd thing is, I do notice a slight temp jump if the Tool is testing settings itself, and from what I'm seeing, I've hit 726 core speeds and only been at 62C... but then it crashed.

3) The other problem is that the sliders with ATi Tool are very "glitchy", not really letting me go up/down small increments and save. So I tried using the arrows, which works a little better, or typing it in, but when I go to apply it, the numbers either jump up by a few, or down.

Anyone else have these "glitches" with ATi Tool?

you have to set the gpu voltages from inside an overclocking program like ati tool.

automatic overclocking has never really worked for me either. it crashes from time to time.
