I'm currently trying to find the best solution to move to a S939 MB, but retain my X800XL AGP videocard. I love my DFI NF3 UT MB, as it has allowed me to keep my older S754 clocked to a nice 2.5Ghz, but I think I want to move into X2 territory.
Looking around, I found that DFI does have an Ultra-D board that would seem to support this, but reading reviews, and from DFI, the board was discontinued, and while it worked flawlessly for some, others never got it working properly, even with Bios updates.
Through my searches, ABIT, Asus, Gigabyte and Epox all have AGP/S939 boards available, but I'd prefer NF3 Ultra or 250Gb, and the ones out there don't list support for the X2 processors, only the Athlon64 and FX. Is there a reason the DFI listed ( and I saw some had it running ) X2 support when all the others don't?
There is a local store with a single DFI Ultra-D left as a tested open box return, and I'm tempted to try it out, but it has no return or exchange available, so I want to see if there is another board I can buy mainstream first. My leading candidate was the epox 9nda3+, but on their site X2 support isn't listed.
