S2-IS has a killer zoom.

Of course, it has 12x and IS. What would one want more from a P&S..
 
pick one: G6 or S2 IS


one has RAW and a flash shoe, but only 4X zoom with no IS

or the other with 12X zoom and IS, but no RAW or flash shoe


i picked the G6 cus i got it for $400
 
I dont know, IS is cool especially with P&S cameras. And 12x, worth it. It has better zoom than my DSLR with 18-200mm(11.1x zoom) lens
 
personally. if i could go back and do it again, id get the S2 IS because of the zoom. i hate being stuck at 140mm (the 35MM equivalent of the max zoom on the G6).its just not enough

true, but your SLR has a better image quality because of the size of the sensor.

Maybe because I was at the park with my girlfriend and wanted to try something out long range when I noticed the kid at the water fountain?

Or maybe because it was my friends daughter?
 
Panasonic FZ 20 has the hot shoe, but no raw. TIFF is as close as it gets. Weighs in at 14MB/shot, though, which is annoying.
