I got this case from Newegg for $19 (I liked the price and the front reminded me of the Centurion5) The cooling was HORRIBLE so i fixed it up a bit.
EDIT: here is the link to the case (remember I modded it, dosent come this way)

Can we see some pictures of the front?

Very nice job you did on this thing!

Thanks...

later on I am gonna re do the face to breath better and do a bit of OCing.

Wow, that case looks to be about 6.5" wide - what model is it?

+1 on the amazing cable routing.

Nice cable management, and great job on the case. Keep it up and your "investment" will pay off.

LOL, I liked that it was $19..The cooling stock was just awful (like a lot of stamped steel entry level cases)

The idea for its worklog was to show with a few simple mods even a POS can perform very nicely.

where do i buy clips like that to run my cables?

some of you guys do an amazing job with that... my current case is a mess :p

I get mine from Home depot. They are like 10 for $3
The name of them is Adhesive Backed wire tie mount. I just bought a pack of 100 on Ebay for $11

its 7" (good eye) # R6426-P-BK
Thanks, I've looked at tons of slim cases and never seen this one - apparently no longer active at Teh Egg, tho I found links to the disabled item using google - so you scored a great price for the raw materials, and really did something with it. The mesh-work is smooth too, especially on the back fans

Home Depot, Lowes, etc - in the isle with all the wall anchors and other fasteners - unless you really want to order online and pay shipping lol

RatShack has stuff like that too, but they charge more.

ahh yes! the good ol' stacker/lian-li front mesh ripoff jobber for $19....i remember wanting to pull the trigger on this case back in the day. seems like every case company had something similar with mesh fronts/faceplates for awhile...

Nice build as usual markkleb. I remember your builds you showed on the Xox forum. Your work is always impressive.

Lol, I thought I was the only one that modded a Rosewill. Its nice to see someone else mod these generic cases.

Maybe we can start a "Show your Rosewill case" thread. Then again not. :p

Im having a hard time believing you got that case for only $20
looks clean as hell O.O
good job

LOL, thanks. The reason for this build was to show the other 99% that dont own Lian Lis or Silverstone that cheaper cases work just fine. Remember a case is just six sides, air going in one and out another. the easier the air moves the cooler its gonna be.

How did you mount those harddrives in the 5,25" cage?

they are a perfect fit sideways, I made a bracket out of Perforated alum and used rubber grommets for HDD mounts
Picture.jpg

I left a 3/4" gap between the Hdds to aid airflow.

i like the look of the stock case anyway, but the mod adds the $$ factor.

very nice work

Yeah I am one of those 99%. I like LL's and SS's a lot but never can afford them. On the other hand I like my RW TU 155 just fine, especially as I mod it up. Temps are fine now that I cut a blowhole and cut out some airflow openings. Besides my rig is a budget rig anyway and not a extreme rig. Almost done with phase II of the mod/build and then hopefully enjoy it until I start phase III next year or so. :D

post it so we all can see it. glad you got the temps down, its pretty surprising how much an improvement 20min of modding can do..

LOL Zenshi, I notice the family in the sig, Dual 3870 X2s(or 8800 Ultras) and a 1000 watt PS are but a dream for us....

It's not quite finished yet and I don't have the final shots. Just a short hijack of your thread (sorry). Will make a new thread this weekend when I get home to finish the build.

Hahaha! Yeah you can say that. I don't know how many times people go...hey nice build...but uh your monitor.... (I still have a 15" CRT) :p I can live with my 7600 for now since I haven't even played any of the games I keep buying every time Target has a sale. I still actually need to play KOTOR and even my son's rig w onboard graphics can play that. And if I put a 1kW psu in my rig I think my components would blow up. Hahaha.

Edit: btw I absolutely love what you did with that mesh. It is kick*ss. I still remember the crossflow rig. That was really nice. Do you still have that system?

its not a hijack when its welcome, nice job...

LOL, all the Crossflow cases are in my closet, I actually cut one up to get the perf alum the make the HDD mount and exhaust grill.

usually I just throw the cases away and build another with the same hardware but I like this case so much I am probably gonna keep it (my 8800GT runs 44C while gaming)

Excellent work as usual mark!
lol, after seeing your mod I feel so insignificant, so I am tearing this apart and commencing with Stage 2.

Additions will include custom built PC power & Cooling 510 with CF case and improved cooling.
1 more ECS 8800GT with Accelero Passive cooling
Switch Mobo to TForce 590 (want the PCIX 16 X 2)
Even better cooling
More lighting
Case sound deadening
New improved Breathing Front
Better wire management

I'd hardly call your work insignificant... You've done some really cool stuff. Your fan mods are still quite possibly the best I've seen. As far as my own work goes, hey, I'm just a guy with a dremel... and a dream. ;)

I'm really looking forward to stage 2!

Thanks! It's nowhere near what you did but I like it. Phase II of the build is almost done (just a few fan grills to put on and overclock it to 3Ghz). Phase III a year later when I have some money again and finished upgrading my daughter's PC (have the parts, just need the time).

Now you got me really interested in your next installment of the mod (Stage2). Your final rig is going to be the fanciest looking RW on the planet.

That is a great quote craigbru! Can I quote you in my sig? BTW, I just looked at your worklog. What great cutting! I will be lurking that worklog.

awesome cable job, its even clean behind the motherboard! mine looks clean from the front, but behind the mb its a disaster!

WOW........ That is one of the cleanest wire jobs I have seen.
Great job

I didn't feel like reading though all the posts but where did you get that mesh used for the HDD's I've been thinking about modding mine but i want a good looking mesh like that.

Thanks and again WOW

I got mine by cutting up an old case, lol...

you can get some from metalsupermarket.com
