my roommates computer crashed about a month ago and after using another frineds computer and changing out all the parts we found out the the mobo was messed up do to the fact that we can used all the broken computers part besides the mobo with the mobo of the working computer and well it worked....so we ordered the cheapest motherbord we could find and when we hooked it up there was no signal sent to the monitor and the mouse wouldnt lite up....but the origonal probleme was fixed...it would start up for about 5 seconds the restart.

I'm not trying to saound like a jerk, but honestly most of that made no sense at all.
Were you trying to ask a question, or just sharing a story about your friends computer?

sorry ill try to clear it up a bit...
My friends computer started to restart every time you started it...It would start normally for about 5-8 seconds and then it would start shutting down and restarting...so what i did was too the mobo out of a different friends computer (cause they have the same sockets) and put everything from the broken computer onto the working mobo....and it worked fine so we ordered a brand new motherbord for the broken computer. We put it all together and now instead of restarting during power up it just doesnt send a video signal and theres a light on the mouse that usually flashes during start up that isnt flashing. Could this be caused by anything other than the mobo?

The mobo could be DOA. A few suggestions:

1) Have you tried using the new mobo with that different friend's hardware?
2) Have you tried assembling together the PC outside of the case?

i tried everything before the ne mobo came in but ive been pretty busy lately so ill try it tomorrow and see what i cant find out

run memtest, too, on the broken comps ram using the working comps mobo. though, it could also be the cpu hsf isnt mounted properly. but definately try all those other things everyone else said, too.
