For those of you that haven’t seen it yet, this is quite possibly the coolest robot I have ever seen. Behold the robotic beer launching fridge. Yes, I said a robotic fridge that pulls cold beer from the fridge and throws it to you (with incredible accuracy) up to 13 feet away. You have got to click the link and watch the video of this thing in action. Thanks to Scorpionjwp for the linkage on this one.

Have you ever gotten up off the couch to get a beer for the umpteenth time and thought, "What if instead of ME going to get the BEER, the BEER came to ME???" Well, that was how I first conceived of the beer launching fridge. About 3 months and several hundred dollars later I have a fully automated, remote controlled, catapulting, man-pit approved, beer launching mini-fridge.

Put the mini fridge BESIDE the couch.. DONE

Really unless it delivered from your full size fridge in the kitchen what is the point, other than to shake up your drink?

I thought the same thing when I seen it.

LOL, it is the novelty of the whole thing!!

I could see some serious problems developing with that. After making thorough use of the device, it would become increasingly difficult to catch the beers. Eventually I would probably get hit in the head with one of them.

However, it could be a LOT of fun at a part. Girls like dorky stuff like that don’t they?
:D

Wow, you really do live up to your username here don't ya? :p But you are right, why spend hundreds of $$$?

yup. I like electronics and making gadgets as much as the next guy, but man you said it a nice frothy beer and being uber lazy so that beer gut grows even faster.

Na, I just think it is an impractical mod, if I was going to make it into a mod I would have found a way to stuff the fridge inside the couch and deliver the beer up through the armrest at the push of a button.

The remote launching system is wasted in this application, it should be launching flaming projectiles or something.

Excellent. And, you could even go one better delivering subs, jello, maybe ice. Now we're talking.

Impractical or not, the person who built this thing is doing a production run and building a few then sell them. And there are people who will buy it, regardless of the fact that if they want to get off the couch to get a beer.

A fool and his money...

People purchase lots of stupid things, if it he sells a few it would not surprise me. Can't wait for the first lawsuit when someone is hit in the head/eye/face with a can a gets injured.

Everyones seen Mythbusters and the remote control 7-up machine? That's the way to do it. Make the refrigerator come to you, and then shoot the can out.

Thanks a lot! You just made me shoot orange juice out my nose. Now I have to go get some paper towels. :p

/me looks at 12v TEC mini-fridge humming away sitting next to my monitor. It weighs about 5lbs and holds 4 beers, so ....I could just set it on the couch when I go to watch football on tv :D

... the words Robot, Beer, and Fridge were mentioned in the same sentance... Its a milestone for man-kind.

Though after looking at the webpage, the beer in the fridge, well... He could fit a lot more beer in there, that amount wouldnt even last me through an episode of family guy. If you put absolutley nothing else but beer cans in a mini-fridge, its actually suprising how much they can hold. Theres also a gaping hole in the top, which makes me question the mini-fridge's ability at cooling down a 12 pack.

Though regardless, any kind of mod involving beer and a fridge, or beer and robots... not to mention all three at once, is definatley a winner in my book.

no thank you. I got my wife who'd be happy to throw requested drinks at me :D

I do like it though.

I noticed that but after the killer arm accepts the drink, it has some sort of plastic cover that closes in its place.
