I think it is safe to say that technology kicked this dude’s ass all the way around. Bluetooth headsets, timers on safes and auto-locking doors. This guy just couldn’t catch a break.

Keith Allen Sturgill was yelling at the worker not to answer her ringing phone, police in Columbus, Ohio, said. Sturgill also had trouble with the safe, which employees couldn't open because it was on a timer, and with an automatically locking door that kept him outside once he had left the restaurant

There is two words that describe this guys, FAIL and OWNED! :p

so i assume the employee wearing their bluetooth headset while on the clock is going to be reprimanded, since most fast food places dont allow employees to be on them while theyre on their shift.

Who robs a Wendy's?

You'd be surprised. Most fast food restaurants only deposit money once a day. When I worked at Taco Bell, we have over $5,000 in the safe one night. Most nights it was between $1,500 and $3,000 though.

You know, if I am going to rob something, it wouldn't be for small change. If I am going to take the chance of getting caught and going to jail, it's going to be over millions.

He would be a perfect person to use in a "This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs" commercial.

Yeah but if you're a druggie who needs a hit and you're used to getting a couple bucks a day cashing bottles in or stealing peoples shoes, then a couple Gs is like millions to you.

LMAO! That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. I can just imagine the guy screaming "DON'T YOU DARE ANSWER THE PHONE!!!" and the Bluetooth phone replying "command: 'answer the phone' accepted". :p:p

From the article:

When officers arrived, Sturgill first took an employee hostage and then threatened to shoot himself, police said. He was eventually persuaded to surrender and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.

Either this is a typo or this is a guy who is fitting of the SWAT movie reference.

Hondo: The reason we're gathered here on our God-given, much-needed day of rest is that we have a Polish hostage.
Deke: So what if he's Polish?
Hondo: No, no. Means he's one of those: "Anyone comes in, I'll blow my head off" type of guys.

...keeping in mind that stealing millions and not getting caught is going to be substantially harder than stealing a few thousand and not getting caught.
