Thoughts on this proposed build to max out Rift @ 1080p?

Not good at all. Just not good at all both in terms of price to performance ratio and quality even for a $600 budget.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? Cpu, mobo, ram, system drive (have external storage), case, psu, video card

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Mouse, key board, monitor, dvddrive

6) Will you be overclocking? Only if necessary

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 24 inch asus 1080p

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Asap

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? Nothing fancy, this is for gaming

Thanks danny, though I wanted to stay away from ati because of their driver issues with rift. In addition, I read over on toms that the i3 sandy bridge out performs the phenoms because of architecture improvements.... Any thoughts on an older phenom vs a hyper threaded i3?

Thanks for the chart risq, the problem is that the video card in the selected budget range is incapable of meeting my requirements.... I question why I wouldn't sacrifice in other areas to improve the gpu budget.
 
personal preference, if you can muster some more cash going for a 6870 will definetly pay off. or maybe look for a used 5870? they can be had for $200 maybe even $150
