Yeah, some of these boards require an absolute boat load of power. We use the AIC Gemini (with the max I/O expansion) for several of our products... as you can see, it has quite a few too.

That's the connector for the expansion board; although AIC calls it a riser card. We use the one with five 8x and two 16x PCIe slots.

Oh, one of those four 8pins is for the expansion card; but all four on the MB are used.
