Reusing old shuttle case for new hardware.

A shuttle PC I built almost 10 years ago, maybe more has come back to me. Still fully functional surprisingly. I can't do anything with a P4 3ghz but the case is still good.

Is there any way I can reuse this:

and stock it with new components?

I thought maybe ITX but that seems to be very different and I am slowly concluding that SFF is a unique standard.

Thought I would ask in case someone here has an idea.

Thanks.

It's all about the form factor. Is this what the inside looks like?

That looks like it might be a flex atx motherboard.

Yep. Identical.

Did some brief searching, google, ebay and newegg and I cant find anything flexatx.

It's basically Shuttle's modified version of FlexATX. It's not quite FlexATX but it's close. No one makes new FlexATX mobos anyway so it's a moot point anyway.

You could modify it to hold mITX mobos by just placing standoffs where mITX will mount to.

But honestly, I'd recommend just getting a new case. Especially since the included PSU in that Shuttle is too old for most modern systems.

The 500w PSU from the EVGA Hadron fits most old shuttle cases. Should be more then enough for any ITX system.

But is that 500W PSU sold separately from the eVGA Hadron from a store that isn't eBay related?

Thanks for the feedback Dangman, I dont need another system right this moment but when I do I am going to take your suggestion and just pick up a new case.

Not sure what im going to do with this thing now.

Are all shuttle flexatx motherboards identical in terms of dimensions?
Honestly, not sure.

I wouldn't risk it unless you know how to fix bent pins on a LGA1155 motherboard and can already source a compatible PSU for a good price. Considering the price as of this post, $37 shipped, it's not cheap enough to be worth the risk. Plus factor in the cost of a new and compatible HSF, getting another I/O backplate (assuming that it's even removable), and it's just a hassle to reuse that Shuttle.
