Ok my laptop just decided to stop booting up to windows so I need to get the stuff off the laptops hard drive. How would I go about doing this. I believe its an ATA-6 drive by fujitsu if that helps. I can get more info if needed but I don't feel like taking it out again.

You need a 40-44 pin adapter so you can connect it to a regular PATA cable, from there you should be able to access the data from your desktop. I've bought several of these and they work great.

My friend bought a pretty sweet Adaptec external case for his 2.5" HD from BestBuy.

It was way better quality than the MadDog or whatever crappy brand the case was from Circuit City.

You could make a BartPE CD and copy stuff to a mapped drive or a USB drive

Get a 3.5" and 2.5" data cable. They are only a few bucks and works wonders. I used one to get data off an executives dying drive for a $5B company. As long as the drive still spins, use it.
