PuD it looks awesome! Your pics and meo95 pics are making people rethink what kind of watercooling can be done in a supposedly just best for air case.

Many thanks ;)
I tried to mantain the clean style of this case, without sacrificing the performance of wc ring.

Looks nice PuD, I'm in the process of installing water into my FT02 as well.

Any reason you have the PSU reversed?

Thanks....Post your images when you're done :)

I turned the PSU to shorten the tour of the cables because the power of SATA was too short and did not want to add more extensions.
There are enough cables to be placed behind :p

Yes, on all new RV02 and FT02 models. The only time you might get the old fans is if you order a non-windowed version (old stock).

Yeah, just depends on the retailer. I got a non-windowed version with the AP181s last month so chances are you're good to go.

These cases are 'ok' looking imo >< I like the corsair cases more =D

They may just be "OK" looking but they're the best air-cooling case you can buy. I absolutely LOVE my FT02 but will admit that its looks are mediocre at best. However, you can't argue with the low noise, excellent cooling and quality. The Corsair 800D is nice but is ridiculously huge and better suited for water cooling.

ya, i just got a non-windowed one from amazon a few weeks back and it has the AP181s. I really like how they look and can't wait till my new build is done.

Did anyone get a non-windowed silver version recently with the AP-181s? If so, where. I want to make sure I don't get old stock with the previous fans.

I'm so glad I switched up my X750 for the AX850... basically the same Seasonic X Series Platform PSU (with an extra 100 watts to ease your mind), but in the FT02, the fan grill on the X750 would force you to use internal air for the fan, as it simply will not fit with the fan grill the other way for fresh air. In fact, even with the Corsair thin profile grill, I had to take it off, as the PSU filter clips there was rubbing with it, making it harder to remove the filter for cleaning than it normally is.

Just got the Silverstone FT02 which awaits a GTX 570 and a new PSU. I'm eyeballing a Corsair AX750, so just to make sure before I buy it: It will fit ok, it is just a matter of the filter or what?

Wonderful case, I can't wait to built the system, but one bummer: It came with the old 180 mm fans, no air pen for me. :(

Edit: This is a silver version. No window, bought in Denmark (Europe).

It should fit, I'm upgrading my HX850 to an AX850 this month, if anything the fan will be slightly shrouded by the outer case but should allow for more than enough ventilation.

I did a similar upgrade from an otherwise very reliable HX1000 to the AX1200 simply for the fact that the AX1200 is 100% modular. Performance wise there was nothing wrong with the HX1000 but the mobo and PCI-E cables were hardwired into the PSU, which made for a little messier cabling.

The cables on the AX1200 not only allowed for less mess inside the case, they are also sleeved much better than the HX1000. The HX1000's cables aren't sleeved all the way to the tips and look fairly ugly so I used some NZXT sleeved extensions to clean up the look - but that was a double edged sword because it required adding 5 extensions = even more cables. With the AX1200, I was able to get rid of the NZXT extensions as well as two unused PCI-E cables.

I don't use anywhere near 1200w right now - but could later with additional GPU's . . . but it was still work the upgrade for the cabling along.

Maybe noise or the 80Plus Gold rating. I switched from an HX850 to a Seasonic X-750 because of noise (the AX850 wasn't out yet).

Noise? MY HX850 in inaudible in my system, and I would say my build is pretty quiet. The Gold rating over the Silver though, that's not a good reason to upgrade, and is a waste of money.

Not 100% sure about the HX850, but I am pretty sure that isn't a fully modular PSU looking at pics online. That's my reason for dumping my Antec Signature for a Seasonic X.

Makes sense. In the FT02 I always recommend a fully modular PSU. The Silverstone ST1000-P is my PSU of choice.

What do you mean by fully modular?

The only cable it must have are 24 and 8 pin power cords for mobo and you will always need to use them anyway?

Fully modular means that even the 24 and 8-pin mobo cables are modular.

Yes, you're going to end up using them anyways but in the case of the HX1000, the 24pin and the four (4) PCI-E cables are all hardwired so you're stuck with them and the extra unused cabling to hide.

Breadman could you check something for me?

What speed does your gtx480 fan work at in FT1 and FT2?

any1 know if you can order new side panels for the FT02 anywhere? I bent mine... I straightened it back out, but I can still see the line slightly :(. Doesn't look like silverstone has the parts available.

i have some question, guys.
can you close the top if you use usb to ps/2 for the keyboard?

Yes, you should be able to. The first Silverstone case with this rotated mobo design (the original Raven RV01) had a shallower top that would've been a problem for you - but all the later versions they made the top more recessed so you'll be fine. Just eyeballing it, I'd say there's about 3-4 INCHES from where the PS/2 adapter would plug into the modo to the bottom of the top cover.

that's good to know, thanks. :D

I found on Silverstone page description of version which come with AP181 fans:

Q5 Which versions of FT02/RV02 have Air Penetrator AP181?
A： RV02B-W v1.7 and after
FT02B v1.4 and after
FT02S v1.4 and after
FT02B-W v1.7 and after

Sadly I can't seem to track down a version with the new AP181's in/around Toronto. ++++ is out of stock, and the one's Canada Computers have are too old. :(

Got the AX750 and yes, it is slightly shrouded by the outer case. Not a big deal, it is however important to point out that the PSU is so small, that it doesn't cover the whole ventilation hole. I had to cover the bottom part with gaffertape to make sure some of the air doesn't escape this way.

Wonderful case and PSU btw. :) Both was bought to make my new GTX 570 feel right at home, nice and cozy and not too warm. :p

Do the air penetrator fans make a notable difference compared to the stock fans? Seen a guy on here review them in a thread and he didn;t notice much difference if any.

I've had both and it makes a difference in the sense that you have the peace of mind and satisfaction of having what's supposed to be the newest and best version of their 180mm fans. Outside of that, there's probably a 1* to 2*C drop in CPU temps - some will say that's worthwhile and some won't. I certainly would not pay $75 to upgrade the three 180mm fans if you have the original version - but if you can get them preinstalled on the case you're looking to buy then of course you want the AP181's instead of the older FN181's.

Ordered 2 for the bottom of the case and a pair of 120mm for the h50. No real point in replacing the one under the hard drive bay.

My old Q9550 is getting too old and though it still passes Prime95, I got some infrequent gaming errors due to it, so I had to take another MB and CPU from another machine, since this one requires stability. Its a mATX card with a C2D 7400 CPU on it and I can't remember seeing pictures of a mATX with a FT02 in this thread. So, I thought it might be interesting for some to see how it (mATX in FT02) looks like :) (click image for full size):

I can't decide if that looks ridiculous or awesome or some combination of the two.

Its cute how the little mATX hides in the corner there... :D It was very quick to change mb's in this cabinet though.
