I'm wondering if it is possible to make an entire enclosure using resin alone. Is this possible? Has anyone tried it? Tips and advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Sounds like a messy project. Depends on what you mean by resin. You could make a couple of fiberglass panels or you could make a mold of the a case you want and go from there. Either way it's a bit of a stretch unless you've got a lot of experience under your belt.

I've made a small case out of fiberglass, which is resin + fiberglass mesh.
It works alright for what it is, but for something as large as a case, you will definitely want to make a frame for support. You'll want to start by making a frame. I used 1"x1" wooden square dowels. From there, I cut the mesh and layed it over the frame. I tried to use a single piece of the fiberglass for the majority of it, then I put the resin on and let it harden. A couple of patches and some bondo work and I was ready for paint. I left the dowel frame in there for support, and it's fairly strong.

i wouldnt try to make any large structure out of resin, it wont go to far like that. however, fiberglass is perfect for making enclosures of custom shapes and sizes, i would certainly reccomend that. You will need a support frame for something like that, depending on the size.
