I have a 500R carbide case. I purchase a all in one danger den watercooling kit off a fellow member for cheap.

came with everything i need except a reservoir:
llaing ddc 3.2 pump
cpu block
360 rad
tubing/fitting/mounting hardware
fluid
fans

do i need a reservoir? poking around it looks like it would certainly make life simpler if i bought one as bleeding becomes an easy task.

i'm struggling to find which one to buy. bay reservoirs seem handy, but i've seen some complaints about the xspc ones not sliding into corsair drive bays. also, so many models seem to require a top on the pump. i don't mind purchasing a res but a top seems unecessary.

i'm just cooling the cpu for now to see how i like custom loops. recommendations? tia

The Swiftech MCRes Micro v2 is small, simple, extremely effective, and very inexpensive.
A 360 rad is a bit much for just the CPU.

thanks man. i know it is but if i like the custom loop i'll add a gpu and probably north bridge in the future.

If you got some good quiet fans... You won't be looking back.

just plain old yate loon medium speeds. recommend anything different? (thats not 20.00/each) :)

I was using yate loon high speeds before switching to gentle typhoons. The difference between the two is quite substantial. YL's are good fans, but GT's are in a class of their own.

fan control is very important, imo... but anything tailed with a 3pin on an asus or gigabyte board you can control with your motherboard.

You can get GT's for $16.05 a pop from aquatuning.us. You'll want six fans for push/pull. It really makes a big difference. Especially when using lower speed fans.
