Replacement Video Card & NIC Code 10

Okay,

Had to send back my GTX 280 to evga for the pink screen issue. In the meantime, I've been using an 8800gt with no issues. I received the replacement 280, and when I boot up the onboard NIC will not connect and says "this device cannot start" Code 10.

I have unistalled and reinstalled both the video card drivers and the nic drivers. Both lan ports give the same issue. When I put the 8800gt back in, voila, it works fine.

I have also tried setting the irq in bios, but it didn't help.

Do I need to reload?

System details:

Mobo: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
CPU: Q9550
Ram: GSkill 4gb
PCPower & Cooling Silencer 750
OCZ Vertex 60gb HDD
Evga GTX 280
 
Try using Driver Sweeper to remove all drivers, then re-install the drivers.

Done that also, even used a special filter from the evga forums to remove some files that DS wasn't catching.

If not it still seems like you got a bad one back. I would send it off again.

Video driver loads fine and 280 seems to work, it just knocks the onboard nic's in the dirt.

Pop in the 8800 and all is well. Calling Evga to see if the 280 is the problem.
 
did you try re-installing the NIC drivers after the 280's drivers were installed?
did you try disabling the NIC in the BIOS, rebooting into windows, rebooting, enabling the NIC in the BIOS, then rebooting back into windows? if so, did windows detect the NIC(s) and try to intall the drivers automatically?

Yes and yes.

windows tries to load the driver, but fails saying that the device cannot be started.

I'm going to reinstall.
 
Reinstall Windows?

If that doesn't work, I would call eVGA. Not sure if that NIC is on the PCIe bus or not.

Yes, reinstalling Win 7. I've called evga and they've offered to rma, I just want to see if this works first.

That's a strange issue. I'm not sure if an RMA'd card is going to solve it. Almost sounds like an incompatibility with the motherboard. Newer motherboard bios available?
 
GTX 280 before this one worked fine in the mobo.

Reinstall of Win 7 did not fix it.

Going to RMA the board as it now does not work with the 8800 gt either.

Odd that both ports died simultaneously.
