Removing Factory Thermal Paste

I'm trying to remove this factory thermal paste that's under the northbridge heatsink since I'll be going to water cooling. Rubbing Alcohol doesn't seem to work on it. I'm wondering what everyone else uses to remove thermal paste. :confused:
 
Arctic makes a two bottle cleaning kit that works great on anything I have tried it on. Some sort of citrus based cleaner. Smells orange-o-licious.
 
I actually found a good product here at work Tuesday.

When Dell sends a replacement motherboard (in my situation an OptiPlex), they send a product called ChemPad to remove thermal paste/grease/epoxy. Smelled like rubbing alcohol, and surprisingly, it worked great. Ended up using the one cloth to remove the thermal paste from the processor and heatsink. Here is more info on it:

arctic cleaner is what I used. Personally I think its better than 99% alcohol..
 
ive never had a problem using isopropyl alcohol to clean off factory thermal paste, works like a charm!
 
I generally use Goof Off, or Gum Out as an adhesive solvent to remove the paste. I then take isopropyl alcohol and clean the surface area.
 
Has anyone tried any of these home cleaners around the house to remove it? like 409 or fantastik, clorox, etc?

^^^ that's what I do. I'm sure the Arctic stuff is great, but how much different can it really be?
