Reference Cooler or 3rd Party for Crossfire?

I currently have a reference r9 290 and I'm looking to get a second one ( tax return casshhh :D ) for crossfire. My case has very good airflow, but I was wondering which type of card couples best with a reference card to limit the top card getting two cards?

Should I just add another reference card and have them both exhaust air out the back? Or put the reference card on the bottom with a non-reference on top? :confused:
 
the card at the top ingests the heat generated off the card at the bottom. the problem with aftermarket coolers is that they dump all the heat back into the case. a reference cooled card generates enough heat on its own, but if you put it above an aftermarket card it also eats the heat of created by the aftermarket card.
 
I have two cards in CrossFire and I've found that aftermarket + reference is going to make the top card really hot. Go with two reference cards or two aftermarket cards or you're wasting your money. I had my reference cooled card in the top spot and a card with an Accelero in the bottom slot and the top card throttled badly with all the extra heat dumped into the case.
