Reduce my computer's temp

Is there anything that I can do software wise that can reduce the temp that my PC is running at? Earlier today it was doing at 79C!!!

My room gets very hot/humid during the summer so my computer feels the effects.

Is there anything I can do with maybe my video card or CPU to lower the temp.

FYI I'm not overclocking, everything is running at stock. The only thing that I did was mod my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro into a 9800XT, but I did get a Silencer 3(I think it was called) to cool it better.

If there isn't anything that can be done, how much would a average priced water cooling system run me, and would it be possible to have a water cooling system all inside my PC?

Sounds like a) the OCing/modding is no go, or b) the video card HSF needs to be adjusted. Try re-applying the thermal paste. A temp of 79C is not uncommon with some newer video cards, but for a 9800, that sounds a little hot.

CPU was at 79C? which CPU? anything above 60C is too much.

If the heat is that much of a problem... you should remove the side panels so the air doesn't get trapped in as much. If you've got a fan on one side, you could lean the side panel up against the case.

You could also direct a household fan blowing air into the case (side panel removed). That helps a lot.

Yeah I did take off the side panel now and have a house fan on it.

If your CPU temp is reading 79C, most likely the sensor is f'd up. You could always just reseat the heatsink to find out, making sure that the heatsink's fan is spinning up when the computer boots.

Doesn't really matter whether this puter is a p4 or an a64, 79C is beyond what it should be running at.
