Red Orchestra 2

But that's going to be just about all of us isn't it? ;)

I KNOW I'm getting my ass kicked when I get into this. If I even show up and remotely competitive I'm going to be pretty happy with myself.

The main thing that throws off new people is the lack of crosshairs + freeaim (meaning your gun moves independently of your screen a little bit, so it's not always pointed directly in the center).

For those of us who are used to this it will be a massacre for those who aren't, seeing them hip fire and not being used to the guns.

However the nice thing about RO, is that no gun feels "op" because instead of "Balancing" them for some "fps game'ism" they make them realistic. This means that any gun, from a pistol to a sniper and everything in between, is extremely deadly with good aim.

On the maps in RO, you can play with any single gun and do well, it just depends on how/where you play.

Certain maps I prefer the bolt action rifles over smg's because of the open area's/distances, others the smg's work better with close quarters, but knowing the maps and good spots still allows you to do good with any gun.

My favorite guns in RO were the SVT-40 and G43, good non-bolt semi-auto rifles that were very versatile for any map almost.

I just wish I could play the lsniepr more, that's the thing that's both good and bad about RO, they use a limited number of snipers on each team (usually just one or two max) and then a limited number of SMG's, with more eople using bolt-action rifles.

This keep sit balanced and stops it from being a sniperfest or an smg only game, which is good.

However sometimes you just REALLY want to use those guns but aren't able to in some servers unless you get it at the start of a match and have to be quick about it.

After playing RO since it was a beta, I think I might have a slight edge against people coming from COD

Hm, i completely forgot about this game coming out soon. I heard they are going to have some nice mods. Is it true that they will have first Gulf War mod for this game or did i mix that up with something else?

I finally looked at this game and I am so glad I didn't pre-order Bad Company 3!!! This is a definite buy for me. Commander, Real Squads, real PC game...

The interviewer in the video was killing me

I love the scope/range system.

So happy this is coming out next month. Looks better and better with every video!

RO will not fail us!

The only thing that really worries me is the sound engine, RO was pure perfection on x-fi with headphones when cmss3d and hardware openAL were enabled, I could hear enemy soldiers panting to catch their breath like they were next to me, elevation filter was working too !

Since this is a pc exclusive i would really appreciate some x-fi love, I know ut3 has/had tons of issues when hardware openAL is enabled due to creative's incompetitiveness to provide reliable audio drivers, but UT3 sounds so good and 3D when it works properly, it would be a shame if TWI switches to some shitty software sound engine like the rest of the companies.

More info on the importance of openAL -> http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1214618

I played original after it declined in popularity and there just wasnt enough of a crowd to enjoy it. mildly interested in the sequel

Just played RO last week and had no problem finding a couple of very populated servers. It's not as populated as it was at one time but you can still find a couple of populated servers on any given night.
