The construction business down the street is owned by a friend of ours and we help them with IT stuff when they have an emergency. A guy mowing the lawn hit the power pole, knocked out the electricity for a day and now that it is back up, their Sony PC purchased in November of 2005 won't boot in spite of trying new RAM, power supply, HDD, and video card.

They use this for generating letters, using Quickbooks for payroll, and web searches. Pretty light stuff.

Please, recommend a computer that will be a good deal for what they need. Ideally, it would be something I can order and have within a couple of days.

We're kind of in the sticks so we don't have a Fry's or anything like that near here.

Thank you for helping me help others.

@Carl:
You missed the fact that OP is not reusing anything. As such, he's going to need a PSU, GPU, monitor, OS, and DVD drive as well. Not to mention that OP is not planning on overclocking so no reason to go with the 4670K outside of ignorance or a Microcenter deal.

@c0d3ster:
Yeah you're definitely out of date. The GTX 670 has been effective replaced by the cheaper GTX 760 2GB. I'll get you a build later tonight.

Thank you for your help. Walmart had the recommended PC right there on the shelf. We snatched it up, got it installed, and kept a small construction business moving.

Thank you @Carl224 and @Dangman for sharing your smarts.
