Can you recommend some desktop speaker (2.0) models? Good to high quality <£100. Preferably with bass and treble control.
 
The T40's are better i think
What do you listen to and what will you be using them mostly for? Music/Gaming

If i were you i'd get the M-Audio AV 40's
 
The M-Audio AV 40's are good but right at the top of your budget. If you have a decent sound card then i definitely suggest them.
 
Do you own the AV40's? The Creative's have a wider frequency response 50Hz-20kHz vs 85Hz-20kHz.

Rated frequency response isn't everything and realistically means very little.
