Specs are in sig. I was poking around newegg but I really do not know what I am looking for. I assume I would need a 1kw unit if the power were to go when I am gaming, as my PSU has a max wall draw of around that. I would just have the PC and my main monitor on the UPS itself.

I would rather not spend much more than 250 bucks. But I am probably going to loose power once a week minimum and that does not bode well for my equipment.

APC RS-1200
runs both my systems in my Sig as well as my Xbox 360 at the same time.

Edit: bad info

I don't normally ever link or even look at toms hardware but I found this to be very informative. It will give you an idea of what to look for in a UPS.

I would go with the 1300VA Cyberpower. I didn't look into my UPS enough when I bought my APC and I'm disappointed. The Cyberpower uses a true sinewave unlike the more expensive APC mentioned above that uses a stepped sine which my psu doesn't like. The cyberpower also has better surge protection. I was also a bit (very) disappointed with the "line conditioning" on the APC. I can't comment on the cyberpower.

What PSU did you have and what issues was it causing? Instant shut down when on the UPS' battery?

I like APC since they gave me the above linked UPS for free when my 6-7 year old Backup Pro broke. Sent me a new unit no questions asked overnight at no cost to me. APC will always get my vote.

I could be wrong about the cyberpower being a true sine, btw. I may have linked the wrong model. Yes sir, I am wrong it's listed as a simulated sine which is probably a stepped sine as well, sorry.

My psu whines when battery power kicks on due to it not using a true sine wave. Apparently it's pretty common. I was also disappointed with the 360 joule surge suppression. My cheap surge strip has almost 10x the protection. I was also hoping for some sort of line conditioning. It's my fault I should have looked into my purchase a little more.

I got my APC 1500VA XS at Fry's that was on sale for $100 and I kinda like it so far so that maybe something you should look into.

I've been running the APC RS 1500VA on all the computers in my house. So far so good. No problems here.

I've been able to score a couple of 1185va Cyberpower units for $80 shipped. They've been suiting me fine. I never caught one of the good APC's on sale, though I did get two of the 350va APCs for $5/ea after MIRs.

Hi,
I have question regarding Smart-UPS units VS Back-UPS units - I know that Smart-UPS units output pure sinewave (not the SC line) in battery mode and the Back-UPS only approx. sinewave, besides it, do they filter and correct the voltage&sinewave when not powering from battery, or it is the same output in offline mode as in Back-UPS units? The reason why I`m asking is, that I currently have Back-UPS ES 700VA and I want to know, if swapping to Smart-UPS 750VA would be beneficial.

I just got another APC UPS for my office. Back-UPS RS 800. The CS 650 next to it has kept the main server going through many power glitches (black/brown-outs) without even blinking. I haven't had any issue with the PSUs disliking the stepped sine wave, but I do use quality Enermax and Corsair PSUs :)

I have used an MGE UPS in the past which worked well too, but I haven't seen any of them around any more. I would never buy anything but APC UPSs at this point.

Yeah. I replaced the fans in mine with quieter ones, but not silent ones because I didn't want to cut the CFM tooooo much. My SUA2200XL is muuuuuch louder and fortunately not in my room. I may run a wire from it downstairs up to my room so I can have my desktop hooked up through it, and then sell my GXT2. Not for at least a month or two, though.

Too bad it isn't PWM. I didn't want to void the warranty on mine, so I haven't screwed with it. At least the doors and sides on my rack muffle it to some extent.

I didn't buy mine new and Liebert doesn't give a crap about you if you buy from Ebay anyway.
