Recommend Hardware For Virtual SBS 2011

I am going to be upgrading a small office from SBS 2003. We have decided to go with SBS 2011. A big reason is the owner wants to keep local control/hosting of email etc.

This is for an engineering firm. They have 7 users now and probably won't grow to more than 15 at the most in the next 3 or 4 years.

So, what hardware and software would you recommend for them? I am posting this here because I am planning on having a virtual install of SBS 2011 mainly for disaster recovery flexibility.

Well, a Dell rep is telling me SBS 2011 is only available with a OEM license. He says that won't work to install into a virtual machine because it is OEM.

Sound right?
 
That's BS, your Dell rep just wants the sale. Direct through Dell is might only be available as OEM, but that doesn't mean that you can't source it yourself.

I've done SBS2011 Premium for the extra full server license, and used it for the Hyper-V Host and then SBS as a VM in the past. Worked out rather well.
 
Yeh, you can buy retail SBS (it should still be out there for sale)...plus, that gives you the right to move it to different hardware, rather than OEM which is tied
 
My clients are also architects and engineers. I've had good luck with the T320 series, 6 core cpu, and 32-48gb of ram, depending on how many other vm's are needed (typically a linux based spam filter, and pfsense for firewall).

I use the perc 710p, 2x 15krpm 600gb drives in raid1 for the various OS drives, and a slower 7200 rpm array for data, usually 2-4x 2tb in a raid 1 or 10.
