Im looking for a receiver that has a plethora of inputs (in my case, 6 composite, 3 component and 3 HDMI) and can output all of them to a single HDMI to my TV. Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this? Id prefer to stay away from switches if I can so I thought a receiver would be the best way to do this. Plus it would free up a ton of inputs on my TV. Also Id like to drive a small home theater so thats another reason why I think a receiver would fit.

that kind of receiver is going to be spendy as most recerivers only offer a few composite and component inputs.

My receiver a Yamaha RX-V667 has

2 component- 1 with COAX and 1 with OPTICAL audio in.

5 Composite in- 1 in the front- 1 has COAX and another has OPTICAL. The other 3 have RCA,

6 HDMI in (1 front)

That is about as close as you are going to get to what you want.

This receiver will pass HDMI and upconvert everything else to HDMI/component depending upon output selected. the receiver will NOT convert HDMI to component.

Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U use HDMI, the cable box uses compoent and the Game Cube uses composite.
