Real Time Skin Rendering (Separable Subsurface Scattering)

Downloading, we shall see how my 580 SLI setup works it.

Edit: Wow the download is slow. Barely breaking 30k/sec.

Edit2: Also, it seems there are not that many polygons in this scene. Someone in the comments mentioned he was getting 40fps on a 6670.

Isn't this the human head demo for the 8800GTX from 2006?
Just imagine...life like 3D porn :D

Ok so the demo is exactly what the movie on vimeo is. No need to download the demo if you can watch the 1080p version of the movie. There aren't any configurable settings or anything. When you click the executable it simply starts the demo.

Do they have to pick a slightly creepy naked guy... If someone walks in it's going to be hard to convince them i'm not watching some kind of art porn... But "skin" tech always seems to like to pick old guys...

As nice as it is, 90% of this could probably be (and probably would end up being) faked with careful use high resolution specular (decent specular not the usual plastic crap)+bump maps. It's interesting how lots of the future tech is to do with realism in lighting methods, like the squaresoft one (can't remember what it was about)...and the other one with shadows... They need to get onto the optimization stage, as fancy shaders are fine, but sitting around for the hardware to render crowds of people at 120fps isn't going to happen overnight.

Okay, this is a new demo, not the one from 2006. Runs at 165fps on one GTX580, over 300 in SLI.
