ASUS HD6870 - 1000 MHz Core / 1150 MHz Memory - Running RC5-72

Still playing around with some projects on my new AMD card. Haven't had a ATI/AMD card in quite a few years so I wanted to check out a few things.

649,014,931 keys/sec sometimes peaking to a little over 750,000,000 keys/sec.

yeah im gunna go cry now.. :p

Is anyone else doing RC5-72 here?

I was just thinking back to RC5-64 back in the day. Man I wanted to win that $1,000 ;)

Simple client to use and setup. Low end is 362, high end is in the 400s.

EDIT: Does overclocking have any effect on performance? I'm not sure if I'm seeing anything.

ATI cards are far superior on RC5-72 compared to NVIDIA cards. CPU's are even more behind. Thats why i switched from RC5 to OGR :)

What do the projects do?

RC5-72 is a project to crack the RSA Labs 72-bit secret-key challenge. They have previously cracked the 56-bit and 64-bit challenges. There is some prize money for whoever actually finds the solution.

OGR-27 is a project to find Optimal 27-Mark Golomb Rulers. Optimal Golomb Rulers have some real-world applications, but there's no easy way to compute them, so you have to use brute force a.k.a. distributed computing.

Well I dont know much about bitcoin mining but we'd love to have some help on rc5! Most of our GPU's are on other projects and AMD cards seem to run really fast on rc5! :)

How do you guys choose those? I have a 6850

Do you mean "how do we chose the projects that we run?"

We have a small group of Dc'ers that are working toward projects that are currently contested projects in the DCVault. Sometimes we get together for a monthly goal project (like eon2 for this month) but mostly its just all free will. Many different Vault crunchers have varied interests and each person picks and chooses the projects they want to participate in.

Having said that we would love to have you join us if you want to. Your 6850 would be great to run on MilkyWay@home, Collatz Conjecture, POEM@Home, RC5-72, or even Primegrid. If you are interested give the projects and look. We'll gladly help you get started if you have any questions. :)
