The only thing, I will say right now, some of the products are not out yet, but I do want them when they do to finish upgrading my system. Some things I already have and are using. Sorry if this is too early to ask about some of these.

CPU - Intel i5-3570K IB
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
Memory - 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600
Video Card - HD 7950 or nVidia equivalent
PSU - NZXT HALE90 750W Gold
Disk Drive - Pioneer 12X BD Burner (Own and currently in use)
Hard Drives - WD 640GB Black, WD 1TB Black, WD 2TB Green (Own and currently in use)
Sound - HT Omega Striker 7.1 (Own and currently in use)
Case - CM Storm Trooper (Own with full fans going)
CPU Cooler - Corsair A70 (Own and currently in use)

Yeah too early to start planning: We don't know just how good that Gigabyte mobo will be.

Just wait until IB hits the markets and reviews comes out before you start planning.

The reason I did choose that one Gigabyte one is because from the pics, it has at least 8 SATA ports and still has a PCI slot for my sound card. Any personal opinions on the memory, video card and/or PSU?

RAM wise, it depends on which Vengeance RAM you're talking about about (there's like 7 different versions of that RAM set) as not all of them are good due to the fact that some of them have fairly tall heatsinks which will interfere with the installation of 3rd party HSF. Some are just overpriced in general. In addition it's also dependent on the price of the RAM at the moment you're buying. Sometimes Vengeance RAM are good deals. Sometimes they're not when G.Skill or Kingston have cheaper options.

As for the video card, assuming that you're gaming at 1920x1080 and above, the HD 7950 would be a good choice if you are buying today. However I can't say if the HD 7950 will still be a good buy whenever you're planing on upgrading as Nvidia may have cost-effective GPUs by then. Or drastically lowered the price of the GTX 580. Or AMD's partners somehow run out of the HD 7950 and therefore overcharge you like crazy.

As for the PSU, the NZXT HALE90-750-M is a fine PSU. However Newegg is ripping people off for that PSU: It's normal pricing is $140 whereas Newegg is charging a total of $166 for that PSU. IN addition, I don't know if that PSU will still be in stock by the time you actually buy the parts or whether or not other PSU companies might release equal or better quality PSUs for a lower or equal price.

Just curious, what do you mean by "for now"?

Here's the reason:

Prices change on RAM monthly and even weekly. Sometimes, the changes in pricing are significant. And who knows if prices for that RAM would increase significantly relative to other RAM of the same speed and voltage specs a couple of months down the road?

I get that, but I was thinking if he meant by that it probably wouldn't be that fast at all by the time I get new hardware?

It's not that it would not be that fast, but the prices can change significantly over the months or even weeks. The same RAM might cost $45 right now but might become relatively overpriced compared to other RAM by the time you actually purchase the parts.

Oh I know about RAM prices. I remember when 16GB of the equivalent speed a few years ago was OUTRAGEOUS. Basically like how hard drives are now, the prices are just insane. Also, I'm choosing the low profile RAM because the one 120MM fan on my cooler literally goes over 2 of the RAM slots in my current PC with basically zero room between the bottom of the fan and the top of the RAM.

Yeah as E4g1e explained, I was talking about the price of the RAM in the future may make that particular RAM a poor buy for the money.

I get it now, just originally thought you were saying that the speed/tech might just be slow and can get faster speeds probably for the same price. Something like that.
