Well i just got a new raptor and installed it as my boot drive(cloned my old 80gig WD)
The problem is i dont notice a difference in speed at all and boot time seems to be the same.

Heres my hdtach results:

Also had a different problem now, since ive installed a new wireless mouse its weird when i move it around alot my cpu utilization goes up to 80% from 0, and when im running azureus i cant do anything with my comp but surf the internet cause the mouse lags for a second then jumps to where it should be constantly...its EXTREMLY ANNOYING! anyone have any idea?

Are you using a secondary sata controller (like as in one thats not on-board)

also, what board do you have?

Its plugged into the sata1 slot on the motherboard which is an Abit IC7 MAX-3

always do a clean install on new drives to eliminates existing probs.

18% CPU utilitization? I relaize that HDTach's CPU use measure isn't very precise, but 18% for a storage device in a linear transfer test is unacceptable by any standard. I'd be looking on Abit's or Intel's support sites for updated chipset drivers.

I'd also want to check for bloat/malware.
