I have an athlon XP 1700 thoroughbred OCed to 1710 mhz. The voltage is currently set at 1.75

Every once in a while it just restarts while I am playing a game or during similar activity. I am running winxp pro

think this is a stability issue? I had it at 1.7 volts and I jumped to 1.75 to try and fix the problem, but it has not eliminated it. Ideas? The cpu temp is only around 40 when it shuts off (sometimes even lower, i have never seen it over 45)

Thanks!

Sounds like a vcore problem, upping the vcore can help this, try 1.8vcore, also run CPU-Z to see what your board is actually running your FSB at, my friend had his set to 166 FSB on his mobo, and checked FSB in CPU-Z and showed he had 170FSB, which is why he got random reboots, so he moved the fsb to 167, then moved back to 166, and all was well.

Also putting your system specs in your signature would help a lot, gonna need more info to help.

Have you tried running prime95 at all? That might be able to narrow down the cause of your restarts.

i just used it to test my pc basically...just ran it for a few hours and it seemed fine so i stopped it. my pc was doing great. also zpuz says my fsb is 171.2 when it is set to 171, that is okay right?

here is a pic too
