So, my computer started randomly restarting, and I think it's my Antec 520W. I'm pretty sure this is the cause, but would like a second opinion, please.

I'm running a 6950, i5-2550K, Asus P8somethingsomethingwithnumbersandletters, 8 gig RAM, Samsung 1TB HDD.

I believe everything in the computer is now about two years old.

Thanks

Go to "advanced system settings", the "advanced" tab and uncheck "automatically restart" under "system failure".

I did that, but what would it accomplish? I'm just curious.

It'll provide you time to see what the actual BSOD error code is. Which you then tell us so that we can figure out if it's actually a PSU related issue.

yup! BSOD's are one of the only times where i'll take a picture of the screen. Faster than scribbling down the six tons of info, some of which is quite important.

Uh... I think it actually cuts off power and restarts without any BSOD. But I'll come back with an update when it happens again. Thanks

If it's just shutting down like you pulled the plug then that does sound like the power supply especially if there is is no BSOD.

I assume you verified that the CPU fan is working and the CPU is not running all the time at 100C+

Edit:

It would more likely shut off than reboot so that probably is not the cause.

Other than the power supply this can be a motherboard problem.
