RAM - Need Some Help

Hey guys, new on here. I'm in the process of upgrading my ram, but this is my first time ever so I'm just curious as to whether the one I have ordered will work with my PC. I have done some basic research but I would like somebody who knows what they're doing to just confirm it for me, as I'm a total noob when it comes to hardware.

The ram I've pre-ordered is this: Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5C 4GB 800MHz C5 DDR2

Now my computer is an Acer Aspire M5630 - totally unmodified, and is in new/shop condition in terms of hardware.

I've done some research into the PC on the internet and I believe that the motherboard can have up to 4GB (2x2gb), and that it is a DDR2.


Could somebody confirm whether that RAM I've ordered will be compatible and will work with my PC. I can cancel the order while it's the weekend and probably wont be dispatched until Monday.


If you need to know any further detail then please ask.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Okay thank you. I will leave the order anyway and I'll just keep my fingers crossed until my PC loads normally for the first time after installing it. I will keep checking this thread for other replies however.


When I get the RAM, do I just remove the ones I have now and place the new ones in then load my PC normally, or do I need to do anything in the BIOS/safe boot etc?

The former.
 
Unless they send u bad sticks of ram or ur full of static while ur switching them out/putting them in ur all set
 
Just got the RAM 2 days early. Seems to be working fine, pc now has 4gb of ram instead of 2 lol :)
