Raid question

While it is always advisable to use 2 identical devices in R0, in most cases there is nothing stopping you (depending on the controller, some controllers are more picky and reliable than others with dissimilar devices) from doing this. That said, I wouldn't recommend it across different SSD controller types (Marvell and Sandforce, for example) and if you are using 2 devices of the same type/model with just different firmware you should update both to the latest unless there is a particular reason not to.
