I currently have two SanDisk 120GB Extreme in RAID0.

I just benched and got 800MB Read / 304MB Write.

I am using the onboard raid controller, would I benefit from a RAID pci card? Would I see a big jump in numbers? Or is there something wrong? Or are these numbers the numbers i'm supposed to be getting?

Would a better raid card give me a big enough jump to buy one?
 
I would say no. Seems about right. This review and this review sort of hints that the SSD doesn't live up to its specified ~550/510MB/s r/w speeds..... 400-450MB/s sequential read and ~150mb/s writes per drive... so your numbers look about right.

Have you tried any other benchmarks?

Not as much of a jump as better drives would. Maybe you'd see 3-5% difference in throughput if that with a dedicated controller. A controller would be a waste of money for 2 drive or less unless you're also planning on running a bunch of spinning disks for storage.
 
Ahh okay. I get it now.

Thanks guy, the speed for me is fast enough, was just making sure i'm not losing much by using the integrated raid.
