I have 3 drives

3 X 300GBS SAS 10K RPM

I installed ubuntu and dedicated one hard drive to ubuntu . So that left me with two unconfigured drives . Prior to this one was solo and the other two were in Raid 5 . I moved files (sometimes 20-30gigs) between drives and that would take me like 4-5 minutes. without the Sas drives in raid five it took me almost 35minutes to do the same thing . I just ditched ubuntu :( can I still run Raid 5 with a dual boot setup I really don't want to mess with dedicated drive to programs for vista so I wanted to use the raid 5 one .

I hope you guys understand me .

You can't use RAID 5 with 2 drives...SAS drives are the fastest drives out there right now, so I don't exactly see how you had the performance problems.

raid 5 is a better option than raid 0.

I didn't even know they had 300GB SAS drives out yet. I've only seen 146GB

Heres a pic so I won't look like a liar

not entirely sure what that picture ought to prove nor what your question or point is. A RAID-5 array with only two drive ought to be running in degraded mode, which usually bears a performance penalty.

wasn't calling you a liar. Just wasn't aware that they had hit the market. But to the main point you should set up your drives in a raid 5 array. This will need all three drives, and you will only have 600GB of storage, because one drive will be used for the pairity.
