Raid 1 existing drives. Lose data?

1. Upgrading from an ASUS MB with EZ SCSI
2. New ASUS MB doesn't have EZ SCSI
3. If I use Intel Raid. Will I lose data on the two existing drives with RAID 1?

Pretty much. From my understanding of RAID, you have to use the same RAID chip if you want to reuse your RAID setup. Using a new RAID chip will either delete or render your data unusable.

So now would be a very good time to backup all your data.

Always look on the bright side, eh? I agree, it's time to either create a backup infrastructure or test the one you have.

Yep, Creating a RAID 1 lost all my data. Backups worked though.
