I have the EVGA X58 SLI board, which I guess has both a JMicron and Intel RAID controller. I got two 128GB SSDs, and I was planning to put them in a RAID 0. I tried both controllers, but after I create the array, under status it just says "Failed" and lists one of the drives as a "Non member disk" . The same thing happens using the Intel one or the JMicron. Anyone have any clue what would cause this?

I have set it up correctly according to those instructions and others. It seems to work at first, then when you go back in it says it's Failed and one of the disks claims to be a non member disk.

First, test each drive individually. You may have to change from RAID mode to AHCI mode in the X58 BIOS.
- Can you successfully format and see both drives in windows?

Next, update to the latest version 82 BIOS for you board at evga.com. This BIOS includes updates to the RAID controller and other fixes / tweaks.

Let me know how you make out.
