Radeon 6970 Current (Amp) Draw?

Hey guys,

I can't seem to find anywhere what amp requirement the 6970 card has?

Just wondering due to my original Enermax Galaxy modular PSU having only 17Amp per each of its 5 Rails.

I imagine if I split 1x PCI-E 6pin to a PCIe 8pin I will be wanting to get a dual 6pin to 8pin? Or does it matter? I would at least bet on making sure the split 6PIN to 8PIN is on a seperate rail.

Any clues if 17A is enough?
 
I would expect that to be fine. 6970s are 190W typical and 250W max so divide by 12 for amperage and you will never use more than 21 amps which is spread between the slot and power connections so you should be fine.
