We'll find out pricing and availability on the 28th. But IIRC, Lisa Su/someone at AMD said a couple months ago that the PC GPUs would be the first RDNA 2 products released. Which means they will likely come out before next generation consoles that I believe release on November 10th and 12th. No word on review embargos.
hmm, maybe same time as Zen 3, unless an immediate hard launch. This is getting fun.
I hope the launch is the same day as the announcement, that way reviews can go live soon as the announcement and we can freak out trying to get a card.

Have we seen any non-3D mark benchmarks leak? The Radeon VII was pretty good in those too, but wasn’t even close to a 2080Ti. Hopefully AMD comes out swinging, it would be nice having competition in the GPU market again.
I agree. We are so close that I’m surprised there hasn’t been any leaked benches besides the garbage we’ve seen so far.
For 2080ti owners Only Control, and even then its a toss up. DLSS 2.0 is not magic, you lose detail in exchange for frames.
For lower end GPUs its a good tool to get extra frames and/or trade for more IQ settings.

I'd be careful about taking the victory lap quite yet. Especially when you use as a source anything from wccftech. In fact I'd be ashamed to ever link anything from that trash site.
Yes, thought I did this before, had no issue with the Intel system. It updated both GPU's, I can now get into the bios, it doesn't show the prompt screen but triggering to go into the bios (Del) will show the bios. A little bit irritating in that the second monitor while going into the bios will constantly switch on and off, beeping but never show anything. Not really a significant issue now. Thanks.

Might also want to check if your monitor has a dp 1.1/1.2/1.3 setting and adjust that.

So looks like red gaming tech got the info on what they will be showing on stage for 6800xt.
6800xt will be shown against the 3080 at 4K in ten games. it will beat 3080 and tie in 2 and lose in 3.
At 1440P it will win in majority of the games. Forgot exact believe he said 8 games it will win and 2 tie or lose. But I think it was a tie in other 2.
6900xt will be amd exclusive for first few months so that is something they are keeping close to chest still. Think AIBs got lot of info and everyone is spilling the beans on 6800xt lol. That will be AIB go to card before they get access to 6900xt.

He reported they were planning to undercut Nvidia by a small but noticeable margin, but are rethinking pricing now due to having an even better product relatively speaking, so that doesn't bode well for RDNA2 being much cheaper, if at all. Zen 3 has shown they will take advantage of their position.
Honestly starting a price war they will gain nothing. If it is trading blows with 3080 and having a larger frame buffer and giving acceptable RT performance which I really don't care about right now. I think as games get more optimized for consoles and developers start coding for more hardware you will get probably better RT performance over time. Given how all games are just coded for Nvidia RTX which is fixed function. It will probably be easier to code for consoles and AMD hardware down the road where its part of hardware.
But I do expect them to price it at $650 for 6800XT. They will still make very healthy margins given they are using GDDR6 and 256bit bus. I really don't think Nvidia will be cutting any prices to eat in to their profits on that big die for 3080.

Even if it trades blows with a 3080 I believe they will still price it 50-100 lower. They still don’t have the following they need to charge the same price for their video cards as Nvidia. People still see them are having the lesser product because of drivers or whatever the case might be. In cpus they have proven them selves and now they can charge more for a better product. But video cards I believe they will have to prove they are better and have great drivers for at least one generation before they can charge the same as Nvidia. That’s coming from some one that has a 5700xt on water.
The 6800 XT is looking mighty good right now. It is ahead in benchmarks vs the 3080 AND it has 6GB more VRAM. Nvidia must be in scramble mode right now! Not to mention there continues to be ZERO availability on 3000 series cards. So AMD might actually recoup some market share with the 6000 series if they ensure product availability this November and Christmas season!! What an exciting time to be Alive!!
You will be pissed that you can get your hands on a superior graphics card? Umm Nvidia paper launched and everybody knows it. Nobody had enough stock to combat the sneakerbot scalping issues!! You should be thankful to AMD that they provide enough stock at launch for real users to buy video cards!
I believe AMD will do a limited run and pair that 6900XTX card with HBM memory to spring a surprise on Nvidia.
That is why I believe it has not been offered to AIBs to date.

While everyone it seems, say there is no indication for that to happen, that would allow a 16gb as well as a 32gb version on a small size card requiring even less energy than the DDR6 version. Cat's meow yes with a Purrrrrrr. Plus I would expect a SSG version as well for the Pro market. No one is talking about the Pro-Cards, that need to be no more than 2 slot, lower power etc. So the effectiveness of AMD in keeping secrets has taken a quantum jump. Nvidia 3090 is taunted as a semi-pro card, semi Titan card, will AMD follow suit with the 6900XT? How much will AMD follow Nvidia lead to maximize the price? I don't know, all guess work about their best strategy, if AMD has a wide potential to mass produce a lot of cards => lower prices to gain a larger market share maybe a better long term strategy. If not, than pricing that will reflect demand. I don't see much benefit for AMD to match Nvidia pricing unless they clearly blow it out of the park with performance and features which so far does not look like the case. Then again selling it cheaper to some indicate AMD does not think it is as good as what Nvidia is selling, the motto you get what you paid for that sucks people in to ridiculous priced products.
Anyways a $999, 32gb 6900XT DDR6 or HBM2e would just blow apart Nvidia upper lineup, the 3090, any 3080Ti variation or 3090 12gb version. AMD following Nvidia pricing takes away that good faith and pretty much gives the market to the holder, Nvidia. I am hoping AMD can mass produce as much as they want, meaning just not GPUs but all the components to make cards are also available which would be hard for me to believe since launch of the new consoles requiring similar components. $50 cheaper and performing on par or better, more ram and more readily available on the shelf actually seems like the best starting point. AMD has something unique as well, combo deals with their CPUs, so many options. We just have to wait to see.

We know that all AIB is GDDR6. Given the GPU supports both memories they might drop HBM card at less then a grand and still be more efficient with hbm. We shall find out soon.
I can't handle another 3080 launch this soon. I'm hoping the saving grace is the 3070 launch the next day

HBM2 is dead. get over it. AMD is delivering purely with DDR6. They are not going to repeat the mistake of saddling themselves with enterprise priced memory for consumer level products. I don't expect them to put HBM2 anywhere on the 6000 series. AMD seems to have solved bandwidth issue with some type of on board ram caching which they have used from their console experience. Thus "only" 256 bus and only DDR6.
HBM allows much higher ram cards more easily in a tighter space requiring less power. I would expect HBM at least on some of the Pro cards and their Data Center cards. As for it coming down for the content providers, small studios, enthusiast and so on is to be seen. You can easily get a 32gb HBM2e configuration, 2 stacks and 64gb with 4, AMD already have the cooler designs to support this as well as board designs. With the new cache scheme it doesn't even need to be the fastest HBM2e. For lower ram amounts, DDR6 seems to be more cost effective even up to 16gb. I guess it all depends on how much AMD wants to crush Nvidia, that is if they can.
Relax. No one is asking for 600 HBM2 card. Sure they can and charge for it. I doubt anyone is expecting hbm2 at 699.99. I am sure if AMD wants to they can sell one for 999.99 to compete with 3090 and still be cheaper. I am sure they will still make plenty of margins.
Very forward looking would be a card, GPU/SSD combination with compression technology built in simulating or exceeding what is available for the consoles. Maybe RNDA3. I am wondering what AMD has for the sub $2000 market so to speak, they could have a few things that would make the 3090 look utterly stupid for the price. There is a rather large gap software wise between Nvidia and AMD that would have to be made up. Plus Nvidia continue to push further ahead as time goes on, AI, Rendering Software and so on. Professional rendering like with VRay would only have to have an update that effectively will use AMD hardware which should translate into many other software packages as an example. More than just a hardware battle in the end.
The only way AMD can work for me is if they upgrade the video encoder to better match NVENC. I need it to be able to do 4k HDR 10bit for my Elgato capture card. Otherwise have to wait for the 3080. Doesn't look like there's much info yet. Maybe we'll find out this week.
