This is a new card for a budget build, not really used for much gaming. Just need a card for the new system.

you're splittin' hairs if this is for gaming to be honest, it's like asking a 5 yr old to choose between spinach and squash
 
In my opinion you are better off saving your money for a little longer to get a 460 or 6850.
 
I believe you can find either a 768 or 1gb 460gtx for that price AR, which, would be better than both of those cards.
 
The HD5770 is a lither faster than the GTS450... and the pricing reflects that. Both draw about the same amount of power, AFAIK, so some aspects of cooling are about the same.

So... which do you like better, lol?

As mentioned above the GTX460 768 or HD6850 both roflstomp the low/midrange choices here.
