Hi all....just picked up a Visiontek 4850 and i am a little confused.

Can i just plug my 6-pin PCI-E into the card and be done with it?

The manual mentions using the y-cable and two power connectors....seems odd to me.

Thanks!

Yes, you can just plug in your 6Pin PCI-E connector. The Y-Cable is for those who have PSUs without the PCI-E connector.

It says in the instructions that the card won't work properly unless both cables are plugged in. I plugged in both and am very happy.

what? if you are using the power supply pci-e 6 pin connector then thats it. if you are using the y cable because your psu doesnt have that connector then of course both ends of the y connector need to be plugged in. you either use the psu 6 pin connector or the y cable not both. some of you guys say the oddest things.
