New beta drivers seem to fix the problem for me.
Nevermind it didn't. Black screen problems still occurs with latest drivers.

Uninstalled afterburner, also using the latest driver and I'm still having the issue.. ::sigh:: I am starting to see posts emerge on Reddit with people having the same problem, it's only a matter of time until the problem is acknowledged and (hopefully) addressed. Are you using Afterburner? I saw a post over on Guru3D where someone said that he was having that issue with it running, but when he disabled it everything was fine.

I'm getting black screens and random freezes as well in BF4.
I turned of cloud sync in Origin, and it worked for a few hours, but then it came back with a vengance.
I am not overclocking.
I have the BIOS switch in Uber mode.
I am watercooling (I have never seen temps above 50C)
I have Hynix memory chips
Running latest Drivers (13.11 v9.2b)
I'm thinking about sending this card back.
My GPU didn't pass 92 degrees while playing, also do your 290x's have an insane coil whine? Louder than the fan?
Is this issue also prevalent with the 290 cards? Also has anyone maxed out fan speed to see if this is an overheating issue?
I've seen the issue mentioned on overcock.net. I've also seen others complain about black screens and red screens in earlier AMD models. I saw it myself with an HD 4870 I had.
But this thread is clearly attack of the NV clones. It should be scuttled. Let the legit owners make their assertions.
Jesus christ guys, its BF4, its a buggy mess so far. You guys arent having problems in other games right? its NOT the cards!
Amazing assumption based on nothing, GJ. Next time please refrain from posting.
I've linked this thread to vendors to try and get awareness of the issue, so can we keep this thread cogent and nice?

Can some of you who are having this issue check something for me? Open up Gpu-Z and go to the sensor tab and report VDDCI voltage. This is for the memory and I have a suspicion that AMD set this too low. My 290 is only running at 1.0v, compared to 1.6v for my 7970 and reviewer sample Hawaii cards.
if it is, afterburner once supported should help fix and check that.
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=382760Thanks, VRM state/id/location seem to be pretty similar to mine R290 (Hawaii PRO Press Sample). You can alter voltage on it even with current MSI AB beta by sending commands to VRM via MSI AB command line: To set +100mV offset: MSIAfterburner.exe /wi4,30,8d,10 To restore original voltage: MSIAfterburner.exe /wi4,30,8d,0 Use it at your own risk

Edit: I haven't had this issue myself, so this is probably a stretch on my part. I'd just like to see it be something relatively simple to fix by the end user so they won't have to go through the whole RMA process.
I'm running 120Hz as well.. that's interesting. I'm more prone to believing the undervolted vram as a problem- hopefully GPU-Z comes out with an update and I can try that out. Looking at my GPU-Z window its set to 1.00V, if people *not* having a problem could post their voltages maybe that's the problem.Someone at Overclockers claims to have fixed the issue by dropping to 60hz from 120hz. I myself am running at 120hz but haven't had time to test it.
For those not overclocking etc this seems like a plausible cause.
I'm sure a BIOS update would be provided by the card manufacturer(s) so long as it's recognized as a problem. Otherwise someone here in the community would have to create one, I am pretty sure there is a voltage and BIOS modding thread for this card opened over on the guru3d forum. If they are under volted does that mean we'll have to use a software bandaid for eternity, or it could be fixed with drivers\BIOS?
