heres my current specs:

1.5GHz P4
512MB SDRAM
radeon 9200se

I am getting a new machine soon, and I have a 3-4 year-old monitor, and the max resolution is 1280x1200.

My new machine is going to have an 6800 GT, do you guys think I should get a new monitor that supports 1600x1200 resolution? Or should I just save my money and keep the one I have.
 
Are you happy with your current monitor and current resolution? If so then there is no need to upgrade. If you want a higher resolution and the icons to appeas smaller on the screen, then get a new monitor.

What size and type of monitor do you have now anyway?
 
You could save your money, game at 1280x1024 and turn up the eye-candy. If you don't like it, then buy a new monitor. I think a single GT is going to start choking on some newer games with 1600x1200 and a lot of eye-candy. Just my $.02
 
All depends if your happy with this monitor. If you are then why bother. Save your money and maybe get a nice BenQ LCD down the road. The one with the 6ms response time.
